The short version: bumshi makes parody and fiction games inspired by the news. Nobody in them is real, nobody endorses them, accounts are optional, and we don't track you.

Parody and fiction

bumshi games are works of parody, satire and fiction inspired by real events. Characters, companies, accounts, organisations, posts, press releases, statements, quotes and events inside the games are invented, even when they're named to echo something real (for example "Eon Husk", "StarLynk", "Jeeo", "Airtul" or the country "Indya"). They are not real statements by any person, company or government, and must not be shared as if they were. Every mock post, press release, chat and bulletin in our games is labelled "Parody".

Nothing on bumshi is news, financial, legal or any other advice.

No affiliation or endorsement

bumshi and its games are independent. They are not affiliated with, sponsored, authorised or endorsed by any person, company, sports body, team, broadcaster or government mentioned in a headline or alluded to in a game.

• Monza GP is an unofficial fan game. All of its teams, drivers and sponsors are fictional. It is not connected to Formula 1, Formula One Management, the FIA, any racing team or driver, or the Monza circuit. "Monza" is used as the name of the place where the game is set.
• Dish Pending is a parody. It is not connected to any satellite company, telecom company, government, ministry, regulator or official account.

Any trademarks or names of real organisations that appear in news headlines on this site belong to their owners and are used only to refer to the news story.

Headlines and the Trendometer

Each game starts from a real news story. Headlines and blurbs on the site summarise what was publicly reported, and link to a source where one is given. The Trendometer's "heat" is an editorial score our editors set by hand; it isn't live or measured data.

Privacy

Every game is free to play without an account. There are no ads, no analytics and no tracking cookies.

• Accounts (optional, 18+): if you sign up we store your email, your username, your password (as a secure hash we can't read), the scores you save and the games you like. Your username and saved scores are public on the leaderboards; your email never is. We use this only to run your account, leaderboards and likes, and we never sell it.
• Who stores it: accounts and leaderboards run on Supabase, our database provider, on servers in the Asia-Pacific region.
• Deleting it: log in, open your name in the top bar and choose "Delete my account". That permanently removes your account, scores and likes. You can also email us (below) to ask for a copy or deletion of your data.
• Accounts are for people 18 and over. Anyone can play without one.
• Play counts are anonymous totals per game; no personal data is attached.
• On your device: your settings, local best scores, interface preferences and (if you log in) your login session are saved in your browser's local storage. Clear your browser's site data to remove them.
• Hosting: the site is hosted on Vercel, which, like any web host, processes standard request data (such as IP address and browser type) to deliver pages and keep them secure.
• Fonts are served from this site, not from a third party.
• Monza GP's natural commentary voice (on by default on computers, and switchable in Settings) downloads its voice model from jsDelivr and Hugging Face the first time it's used, then runs entirely on your device. Those services receive a normal download request. Choose the "system voice" or turn commentary off to avoid it.

• Fonts: Nunito, Playfair Display and Titillium Web, under the SIL Open Font License 1.1 (Playfair, Titillium).
• Commentary voice: Kokoro-82M (Apache 2.0) via kokoro-js.
• Accounts: supabase-js (MIT).
• Engine sound, artwork, characters, sponsors and all game content are original to bumshi.

Fair play

Scores are checked before they're saved. We may remove scores or accounts that cheat, impersonate someone, use offensive usernames or abuse the site.
